Management has changed, a little better now.
Bad cockroach problem.
Neighbors have consisted of drug dealers, wife beaters, etc.
I heard some noise out on my balcony. Went out to find a little girl around 10-12 years old taking my bike down the stairs! Later after I started locking it, someone stole it anyway, cutting the cable.
Had 10 police cars in the parking lot trying to extract a man with a gun from the apartment near mine. That was interesting.
I made the mistake of leaving my car unlocked for one day in the first week I was here, someone got in and stole my cell phone charger (ooh, big haul) in broad daylight. Gotta love that neighborhood watch!
Some moron tried to break into my car with the alarm LED blinking and my car doesn't even have a radio to steal, broke my passenger door lock. The alarm goes off (DUH!) and they scatter.
The walls here are paper thin. I can hear my neighbors talking through the walls and bathroom vent, how nice.
Air conditioner sucks. They recently put these window coverings on the outside of the building that are supposed to cut down the heat. Since the windows are so poorly insulated, I felt no improvement in this area. All they do is prevent any breeze getting in the aparment. They also cut down the amount of light entering the apartment by half and now I can't see out into the parking lot in case someone tries to steal my car again or anything else happens. Hey criminals, come here and steal things, no witnesses now!
Basically Jerry Springer central here but it's cheap. |
