Apartment Review for Catalina Mission Apartments - Tucson, AZ

I signed a year lease and I can’t wait to find anything better. There are broken light fixtures, poles, equipment, and exposed wired that haven’t been fixed and are a hazard to children outside. The sidewalks and basketball courts have broken glass on them more often than not. I’ve had to call the police on loud, drunk and violent residents a few times. They have a fitness room that has NEVER been open for use in my time here. I don’t bother talking to the office staff anymore because they will talk smack about you in Spanish if they think you don’t speak Spanish. I’ve had one lady, who I don’t think works here anymore, get downright angry and mean to my face when I asked why the pool wasn’t open again. Speaking of pools, they are never open. If a month has 30 days, I bet the pool is closed 20 of them. There are three “pools” but one never has water in it, and another is a tiny sauna near the office. The third is never open for stupid reasons. It takes the 2-3 days to clean the pool; I could do it myself in an hour. One laundry room gets locked for the night and the other one does not. The little sign is above the door and I never noticed it the first ten times I went in and had my clothes locked in over night and was told that they won’t let security or anyone else let you in until morning. The other laundry room has a few dryer units that are always broken, apparently, because residents get frustrated and write on them with black marker “doesn’t work” and it just keeps getting painted over and not fixed. I see people standing outside on their balcony smoking pot or worse. I’ve complained about the wild cats that someone keeps feeding that get really loud at night and climb all over cars causing destruction of property. I have had a few cat fights on my porch and one was bloody, smelly and nasty. The lawns were green when we moved in and have since died, mostly because the sprinklers don’t water the grass, they water the sidewalks because they have all been trampled and broken and never fixed. The fix-it guys are friendly and professional, even if they don’t always fix it right the first time. The best thing I can say about this place is that it’s cheap and I don’t see bugs.
