Apartment Review for Northpointe - Tucson, AZ

My roomates and I signed a lease together 4-5 months prior to moving in. First, the move-in date is a ridiculous 2-3 days before school starts (much later than most apartments), but we were expecting something great. They claimed they needed the first three weeks of August to clean. The room assignments themselves were also quite delayed from what they had informed us before. Unfortunately, the staff had something else in mind... As soon as we walked through the door, we had no carpet in the living room, several items were destroyed, random stains in each of the rooms, stove was broken, pungent smell, etc... the list goes on and on. We immediately went to the office and it seems like we weren't the only ones with problems because there was a line OUT THE DOOR for complaints! They had very nice signs telling you where to wait in line though as if they were expecting a large volume of angry tenants/parents. We finally got to talk to someone and they claimed they knew about it before, but unfortunately it wasn't ready in time. She later admitted that the plumbing had ruptured or something similar so the carpet had to be replaced a week ago. We then called the manager because it needed to be done ASAP since we needed a place to live. Short story, she eventually told us we could wait to have our apartment fixed (the day she told us was 2 days before the semester began and it couldn't be done today because it was after 3pm) or we just break our lease and pretend like we never signed it. Luckily, we found a fantastic apartment on the other side of the I-10 and we're 10000x times happier... Don't believe me. You don't have to, I uploaded the pics to photobucket.
